Today was a poor day for chips or rather a good day because I realised that the chips served at Burger King are too pricey for their quality: £1.85 for cardboard.
I first went to BK’s in Huston, Texas when I was a kid. The cheeseburgers were a revelation as were the milk-shakes.
Today I appreciated, as a guilty pleasure, the Whopper – king of the day – but I will not order fries again.
The real king is the type of chips served in fish ‘n’ chip shops.
One is also made aware of the quality of fries at MacDonald’s. Yet, because of rainforest issues – I’m not convinced they’re resolved – that too is a pleasure not free of guilt.
